Three Moody’s co-workers were featured recently on an episode of The Owner-to-Owner Podcast. Co-Workers Lori Waddell, Matt Tervo, and Mike Shaw share their thoughts about how Moody’s innovative employee ownership model impacts them every day.
The podcast explores a range of employee ownership, experiences and culture topics, and works to bring more insight into the individual ownership experience. “I love hearing the voices that aren’t usually heard. That’s what we feature here on Owner-to-Owner,” says Jesse Tyler, host of the podcast.
Waddell, a Moody’s customer service representative, says she values the teamwork atmosphere at Moody’s. “We’re all working together as a team, we just have a big stake in it – it belongs to us,” she says. “You’re getting back what you put in.”
As a Moody’s paint technician, Tervo says Moody’s culture makes it easy to feel invested in the company’s overall success. “It’s not like any other job I’ve had where I’ve kind of just taken marching orders and collected a paycheck,” he says. “It’s more like, I have input. I am listened to by management. I have a vested interest in how the company does.”
Mike Shaw, a metal technician, revealed another key component of Moody’s success. “The biggest thing is the transparency,” he says. “It’s being able to see that what you do matters. Being able to see what your contribution is doing for the company, and for yourself in the future.”
